This direction reflects what His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, has affirmed: "The UAE places youth at the heart of its vision for the future and relies on them to continue achieving its development aspirations, advancing national progress, and safeguarding the country's achievements."  This vision is translated into policies and initiatives dedicated to investing in youth capabilities and empowering them to participate in shaping the next phase of the nation's progress. It is supported by an advanced ecosystem of qualitative initiatives, academic and professional programs, and ambitious national strategies aimed at preparing national talent equipped with advanced skills and modern knowledge to keep pace with rapid global transformations, contribute to shaping them, and reinforce the UAE's position on the global competitiveness map

This national commitment extends beyond strategic visions and is reflected in tangible practices within government institutions that continue to foster work environments encouraging youth participation, skills development, and greater representation. Among these institutions, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stands out as a leading model in empowering young national talent, driven by its deep recognition of their vital role in sustaining and advancing the UAE's diplomatic capabilities and enhancing institutional readiness to navigate the rapid transformations shaping today's international landscape

In this context, the Ministry has been keen to institutionalize youth engagement by providing professional pathways that enable young employees to directly participate in diplomatic initiatives and activities. This offers them a unique opportunity to gain cumulative experience while contributing effectively to the development and modernization of the institutional work environment and helping shape the future of the UAE's diplomatic practice

Within this framework, the Youth Council was established as an institutional platform representing young professionals and reflecting their aspirations, in alignment with the directives of the UAE's leadership and the country's ambitious vision to optimally invest in youth potential. The Council works to reinforce the vital role of youth and strengthen their leadership contributions, grounded in the belief that their creativity and capabilities can sustain the UAE's path of institutional excellence and leadership. It also seeks to support strategic visions and develop initiatives that advance the UAE's standing and priorities on the international stage, while harnessing youth talent to generate effective solutions to future challenges and develop strategic projects that drive sustainable development and prosperity and further cement the UAE's global leadership

Culminating these efforts, the Council launched its 2026-2027 strategy, a roadmap for a new phase of empowerment. The strategy is designed to strengthen youth participation at the core of institutional and diplomatic initiatives while intensifying efforts to develop their skills in line with the evolving demands of modern diplomacy. It also aims to create a more inclusive and dynamic work environment that transforms youth aspirations into practical outcomes that strengthen the institutional ecosystem and reinforce their role as a key pillar in sustaining the UAE's diplomatic excellence at both the regional and international levels

The UAE's approach to youth empowerment continues as a long-term strategic choice grounded in the firm conviction that investing in people is the most sustainable pathway toward building a progressive and advanced future.
