Tolerance is a great human value that is indispensable to building cohesive, stable and developing societies. In the UAE, tolerance is a story written by Sheikh Zayed, may his soul rest in peace, in lines written with wisdom and faith, and tolerance in its multiple facets was reflected in the lives of the people of the UAE and became one of the well-established values in the Emirati society. 

Since its establishment, the UAE has adopted an approach that has made it a bridge of communication and convergence between the peoples and cultures of the world. It has become an incubator for the values of tolerance, coexistence, peace, security and cultural pluralism, gathering more than 200 nationalities who enjoy a decent life in a society where justice, respect and equality are common practice. 

Despite the challenges the world is facing due to the repercussions of the Covid19 pandemic, 192 countries gather in Dubai today at Expo 2020, each country represented by a special pavilion, which is unprecedented in the 170-year history of the World Expo. This is nothing but the best proof of our commitment and desire to make the world a better place for all. The UAE's hosting of Expo 2020 carries a great message that tolerance is the UAE's approach, and that we welcome work and cooperation with all peoples of the world. 

In line with the vision of the wise leadership to spread a message of peace from the UAE to the world, and within the framework of the "government as an incubator for tolerance" initiative, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation has put in place all the internal mechanisms that made it a platform for dialogue and tolerance. It is in this light that the Tolerance Committee was established, to activate these goals through across the Ministry's various sectors. Over the years, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation has developed a work environment filled with tolerance and positivity and rolled out mechanisms to spread awareness about the value of tolerance and its direct impact on institutional work, Various virtual sessions bring specialists with the Ministry's employees periodically to establish a dialogue on tolerance. 

In this context, the Ministry's Tolerance Committee is in the process of launching a "Platform for Tolerance", an internal electronic platform that introduces the Ministry's employees to all the committee's initiatives, including activities and events, in addition to publications and visuals on tolerance, making it part of our daily life. 

The UAE was, and still is, a country of peace, a global platform for tolerance, and a beacon of tolerance thanks to its policy based on moderation and respect for the other. The values of tolerance and coexistence between races, and respect for different beliefs and religions, are among the values deeply rooted in the history of the UAE, and they are a reality through which we will sow the seeds of progress in preparation for a pioneering development journey, carrying a message of peace into the next fifty years.
