International Youth Day serves as an ideal platform to honour and showcase the potential of our youths, as well as their critical role in shaping a more creative tomorrow. The UAE views the youth not merely as architects of the future, but as knowledge leaders and drivers of cultural and creative development in the present, responsible for ushering in a new phase of prosperity.
Our wise leadership's exemplary vision positions youth as the cornerstone of sustainable development, prioritising youth empowerment and providing them with the right tools for success. Several of the nation's development strategies emphasise youth capacity building, especially the 'We the UAE 2031' vision and the 'National Strategy for Cultural and Creative Industries', highlighting their pivotal role in shaping policies and driving positive change.
At the Ministry of Culture, we firmly believe that young people are valuable national assets who can advance the UAE's culture and creativity. This is especially important as the nation's culture is our identity, and creativity is the language that transforms our rich heritage into modern visions for enriching global human dialogue. In line with this, the Creatives Development Sector is committed to empowering young creative talents across all fields of culture, arts, literature, and heritage, while fostering an environment conducive to talent building and global outreach.
Through initiatives such as the National Grant Program for Culture and Creativity, the sector empowers young Emirati talents in diverse fields - from visual arts and music to film and theatre. Beyond funding, these programmes nurture skills, facilitate international exchange, and amplify their presence on both local and global stages.
Furthermore, the Ministry has forged strategic partnerships with leading global institutions like UNESCO and other major cultural entities, enabling Emirati youths to engage in various cultural and artistic exchange programmes. These unique experiences broaden their capabilities, open new opportunities for learning and collaboration, and further strengthen the UAE's stature as a global hub for cultural inclusivity and civilisational diversity.
Families and communities also play a crucial role in youth empowerment by creating supportive environments to positively shape character, develop skills and encourage active participation in cultural and social life. Recognising this, the Ministry works to engage families and implement awareness programmes that promote a culture of dialogue and openness to new ideas.
The Ministry aspires to nurture young innovators capable of sharing the UAE's culture with the world by establishing an integrated system of institutional support and unique opportunities. We encourage youth to make the most of these opportunities, realise their ambitions and safeguard the UAE's cultural future. The immense potential of Emirati youth is best demonstrated through their outstanding achievements, which have earned them international recognition.
We take immense pride in supporting young Emirati talents who have played a pivotal role in enriching the UAE's cultural landscape. Their successes reaffirms that culture is not merely an activity, but a way of life aimed at strengthening national identity, builds a harmonious society, and fosters an advanced economy. For this reason, International Youth Day should be celebrated as an occasion to renew our commitment to empowering future generations.
